What is Oven-Baked Food?
Oven baking is a rare and pure method of crafting pet food that delivers rich taste and exceptional nutritional value. During this process, our recipes are gently braised at a controlled temperature of 80 °C in a specially designed professional oven — never exposed to the extreme heat or pressure of extrusion.
We use the term “rare” because this method involves significantly higher production costs compared to the common extrusion process, which relies on processed animal protein and fillers.
In contrast, our process results in up to 60% reduction of the weight of fresh ingredients during baking, as moisture naturally evaporates. It takes about 2.5 kg of raw ingredients to produce just 1 kg of AELLIS food. Moreover, this approach requires a larger and more specialized workforce, as every stage — from preparation to packaging — is carefully handled by skilled professionals.
Due to its complexity and the specialized equipment required, most companies avoid this production method.
At AELLIS, we deliberately choose it — so we can use pure, fresh, and human-grade ingredients, just as you would prepare food at home — without processed proteins, flour, or chemical preservatives.

Our basic goal is to produce high quality food, freshly cooked, keeping all nutrients intact. We achieve this by producing daily while enforcing a strict quality control of the raw materials.
We use selected fresh meat approved for human consumption from certified and high standard Greek livestock facilities and farms. Every day we receive a variety of vegetables from local producers, thus ensuring their freshness and the preservation of their vitamins. Furthermore we enrich our recipes with Superfoods and Greek virgin olive oil to make our products an ideal choice for feeding your pets.

Food without preservatives
We produce our dog food in a pure, homemade way — without any chemical preservatives or artificial additives.
Thanks to our continuous, small-batch daily production, we constantly supply the market with fresh food, each batch having a maximum shelf life of 9 months.
Using only natural ingredients and innovative production methods — such as slow baking, careful preservation in individual 1000g MAP packs, and the enrichment of our recipes with natural olive extract (a rich source of antioxidants) — we naturally extend the shelf life of our food up to 9 months.

With virgin olive oil
Greek virgin olive oil is well known for its purity and high quality, furthermore it has equally important benefits for our pets.
It is rich in antioxidants thus strengthening their immune system, protecting them from various diseases and improving their blood circulation.
It has anti-inflammatory properties, moisturizes the skin and strengthens the coat. We use high quality olive oil that has been produced according to the European Union’s requirements.
